What is a groundwater filter?
A groundwater filter, also called a water filter groundwater, is a filter used to purify groundwater. Groundwater is water stored in the ground and can be used as drinking water. However, it can contain various contaminants, such as bacteria, heavy metals and chemicals. A groundwater filter purifies this water through physical, chemical and biological filtration processes so that it is safe and healthy to drink.Groundwater in the Netherlands and abroad
Abroad, water is often pumped from the ground using simple water pumps and then collected in buckets or jerry cans. Also in the Netherlands, people increasingly have a pipe drilled into the ground through which they can drill groundwater. The bacteria in this water are never a problem with our ultramembrane filters because of the high bacteria reduction of the Ultramembranes. The challenge of groundwater is that there is often iron entrained in the water. The more iron there is in the water, the faster filter elements become saturated and need replacement.Larger inline water filters in particular, where larger volumes of water are pumped through with a pressure pump, are prone to clogging up more quickly due to groundwater. This can make frequent replacement of filter elements a costly proposition. This is why we recommend a different type of filter for groundwater.
Abroad, you may also have to deal with heavy metals found in groundwater. For example, in the ground layers of a country like Bangladesh, there is a lot of arsenic. This comes from the Himalayan mountains. This arsenic is mixed with the groundwater by drilling wells, poisoning large areas of Bangladesh. If you are looking for filters for countries where these specific problems exist. Please contact us. We will be happy to help you find a tailor-made solution.
Our groundwater expert advice
Groundwater filtration with a simple gravity or siphon filter such as the AquaLogic Gravity or Siphon does go very well. This is because the water seeps through the filter slowly. This gives the activated carbon longer time to do its job. Due to the low pressure with which the water flows through the filter, the dirt is also pressed in less deeply, so it clogs up less. Our larger inline filters that are used to connect to a pressure pump to the plumbing of an offgrid home are especially suitable for rainwater or tap water. This is because the filter elements then last much longer.
This applies both to the Netherlands and abroad.
In all cases, we recommend choosing rainwater instead of ditch or groundwater if that option is available. This is because rainwater already comes relatively clean from the air and only becomes contaminated by collecting it in the rain barrel. That's aside from the fact that all of our filters have an optimal bacteria reduction of 99.9999%. But the dirtier the water, the sooner they need to be replaced.

The use of activated carbon in filtering groundwater
Many groundwater filters use activated carbon to purify water. Activated carbon, also called activated carbon, is a form of carbon that has been specially treated so that it has a high adsorption capacity. This means it can filter many bacteria from the water. When filtering groundwater, activated carbon is added to the water, causing contaminants to stick to the carbon. This ensures that the groundwater is cleaned and purified.Groundwater filtering
How healthy is filtered groundwater?
Filtered groundwater is a popular way to obtain healthy and tasty drinking water. There are already many self-sufficient households in the Netherlands using filtered groundwater as a source of drinking water. This is because groundwater in the Netherlands is often of high quality and can be purified through filtration processes until it is safe and healthy to drink. However, it is important to remember that there may be different bacteria in the ground in different places around the world. Therefore, using a groundwater filter is recommended to ensure that the water you drink is free of contaminants and bacteria. This way, you can enjoy tasty and healthy drinking water without having to worry about its quality.Groundwater purification

With our groundwater filters you can easily and efficiently purify your own water. This way you contribute to a better world and a healthier life for yourself and others.Groundwater filtration system
What is the difference between a simple water filter and a groundwater filtration system?
A simple water filter is a small device used to purify water from the tap. It is easy to install and suitable for removing small contaminants such as chlorine and flavorings. A groundwater filtration system is a much more elaborate device specifically designed to purify groundwater. It consists of several filters that work to remove contaminants and purify the water. A groundwater filtration system is usually more expensive than a simple water filter, but it offers a higher level of purification.Groundwater filter for at home
With a groundwater filter, you can easily and efficiently purify your own drinking water. Whether you live in a city or in the country, a groundwater filter offers convenience and security when it comes to purifying your own water. You can place a groundwater filter system in any garden to produce pure drinking water.Removing Iron (and manganese) out of the water using Ozone
Iron (FeII) is often a problem in shallow groundwater and sometimes also in surface water. Iron in itself is not very toxic to crops and animals, but iron-containing water can cause various technical problems such as clogging of water filters and pipes and the associated problems with machines. In addition, too high an iron content can cause rust deposits on crops or give an unpleasant odor and taste to the water.
In order to filter iron, it is necessary to oxidize it first with air (oxygen) or ozone through aeration. Aerating water can be done in several ways:
- Using a large basin in which the water is atomised. Due to this atomization, the water comes into contact with a lot of oxygen and the iron can be converted to the settleable form.
- Applying the AQUA Logic Ozone Generator by which ozone is pumped into a tank or vessel containing the ferrous water.
After iron has been oxidized (from FeII to FeIII), it can also be filtered out of the water with our pre-filters.
Change groundwater filter
It is important to make sure your groundwater filter is changed regularly. How often you should replace your filter depends on how much you use it and the quality of the water. You can always come to Aqualogic to replace your groundwater filter. Our filters are of high quality and guarantee maximum purification of the water. So you can always enjoy purified and tasty drinking water without worries.Get your groundwater filter replaced with one from Aqualogic right now and enjoy the convenience and healthy benefits of purified water.
